Default fYI 9600 os 9 and newer tech card.

Download newest revision of software from newer tech at their website. It seems to have ironed out some problems I was having. Since the download my system is running great(knock on wood).

Tell us, what problems were you having? We've got a 9600 w/Newer Tech. card and PT24 Mix plus running on OS8.6. Thinking of moving to OS9.
Very Interested.

My system was crashing often. With midi and audio. At first it was a ram issue. The ram you have must be buffered and dampered. There is a thread on this with a link to the newer site. I took out the bad stick. I still had random freezes. I did a clean install of os 9 I reinitialized all my drives and reinstalled everything. Also use the minimun amount of extensions and I think aol sotware conflicted even though I did not have those extensions on in the digi set( It would freeze after being on aol and then going to pro tools). I have an ibm drive which did not have all the right jumper settings which was causing bus errors. Since I have done all these revisions to my system and upgraded to 5.01 and the newer download, I have'nt had one problem. I don't use aol anymore either. Although if 8.6 is working fine I would stick to that. This newer download is supposed to make the card be compatible with os9. It seems to work.So far very stable. Always defrag your drives too.
