Default quicktime mov will not import

when i try to inport a quicktime mov into protools

I get "unable to open because its video de-compressor was not found"

mov file will open in quicktime ok.

I can't guess why not (well I have some ideas), but as a workaround since you have QTPro you could EXPORT the movie and use a standard video codec like motion-jpeg or DV. See if that helps.

The movie might be MPEG2 or divx or something - open the movie and select command-J to see what the video track is compressed with.
