Default Kush Audio AAX

Over at GS, I asked Greg about the future of Kush Audio plugins under ProTools 11 and he replied this:

Pt & aax
Hey, to everyone in PT land, this is where we're at: Kush needs Avid's help in a major way to port to 64-bit AAX DSP. We very much want to do it, and I've written to my contacts there explaining our situation, hopefully we'll get some kind of response soon.

Avid is a big company with a lot going on right now, so if you'd like to help out with the effort, please write to Avid and let them know you're fans of Kush and would love to see both the Clariphonic and UBK-1 ported asap.

Maybe if enough people tweak their ears we can get the ball rolling sooner rather than later.

Thanks!!!

Gregory Scott - ubk

So, What can we do about this? The plugins are great and we need them working past July! Right?

I'm hearing more and more about people having problems with getting what they need from avid in order to port their plugins.

Steve Duda with the xfer plugins said he tried to get the SDK and couldn't even get an email or phone response from Avid about porting to rtas/aax. I don't know what is going on over there but clearly it's spiraling out of control. Quite amazing that they will apparently put effort into squashing an aax wrapper, and won't put the effort into making the SDK readily available.

And yet some companies (Softube, Sonnox) have everything already in 64bit AAX DSP, and have for a while. Strange.

There is more to this than meets the eye.

Personally, if I ain't seen it in the wild, I ain't seen it...

I do not work for Avid (their loss)...my only relationship with Avid is that of a customer (when I'm not too poor to buy stuff, like now)...and that hot administrative assistant...that's more of a "thing" than a "relationship" (that should keep them guessing for a while...)

Just rockin'...what more is there?

Dear All,

I have just provided access for Xfer and apologize for the delay. Applications occasionally get misrouted or caught in our spam filter. These apps are sent to a queue which we review and process every few days. We receive them at the rate of 2-3 per day, and we review and respond to every completed form, and in just about every language. Steve Duda's plug-ins look cool and we hope to see them on AAX soon. I will make sure that Steve has the information he needs to get going. >>
> >
I received a detailed note from Greg at Kush Audio a couple of days ago and will get back to him right after I send this note. The UBK-1 is a phenomenal product that we included in our AAX Pack promotion, showed extensively at recent trade shows on the main stage, and featured in our AAX center on our web site. Greg has been a steadfast partner and we want everyone to try and buy his plug-ins, including a 64-bit version for Pro Tools 11. For Greg and other developers, we offer a full range of support services, a continually updated SDK, and help on-site for those who want to work directly with us. Getting plug-ins over to AAX for Pro Tools 11 will remain a top priority for Avid. If you have any questions about our services (or see that a developer needs help and is somehow being overlooked) please write to me at [email protected] or Skype me at edgray1000. If a company or individual has the capability and the intent to develop and market an effect or virtual instrument for AAX, we want them on board and will use our best efforts to help them. >>

Thanks,>>
