Exclamation Looking for a midi controller, any recommendations?

I'm looking for a fairly cheap midi controller for small home recordings, mainly to make use of all the plugins in PT8, anyone got any they would recommend?

Keep in mind it has to be cheap enough because I don't wanna spend to much on it if its only for small home recordings.

Thanks

The Axiom series is great. Unfortunately, you'll have to spend about $179 US to get the 25 key.

Those korgs are cool, but if I was a keyboard player and came in to record, I would probably laugh hysterically. Still, if you plan on working solo and your not a pianist, you will probably love that controller.

Ya i know what you mean but it is only for me and I'm not a pianist so it should be fine.

For 49 or 61 keys, the Axiom Pro is a good choice. If you want 88 keys with weighted action, I would shop for a used Alsis QS8. Its a decent keybed and you get the bonus of some decent sounds for under $500.(I have a local shop selling one for $299).

Many thanks for the reply but I'm aiming for a very simple one.
Preferably less than $100?

Under $100? I'd get the Oxygen 49. You get a mod wheel, pitch bend, octave up/down, transport buttons, sliders/faders, control knobs, and best of all, it's an actual keyboard. Just keep an eye on these, and make sure to ask the seller questions about the condition of the keyboard, sliders, knobs, buttons.
