Bad fader - looks like mother board problem??
I bought a Command 8 on eBay.
It arrived with a problem on Fader #8. Makes a repeated clicking noise at the bottom of its throw after the unit is powered up. Fader utilites & calibration don't change the story. Only registers values between 1012 and 1023 and tries to stay at the bottom of it's throw for 1012 and near the "0" mark for 1023. Updated to latest firmware. No improvement. Cracked it open; disconnected fader #8 and connected fader #7 to the #8 set of pins. The problem stays in slot #8. Must be the mother board. Connected fader #8 to position #7 and it worked fine. Are fader problems almost always the mother board? Have you had a mother board replaced? What was the cost? Sounds like this one's going back to the seller. j mcd |

Re: Bad fader - looks like mother board problem??
I don't know the cost but I had the main board in my c/8 replaced about a year ago for exact same reason. Mine was still just barely under warranty. I sent it to digi and got it back in less than 5 days from when I shipped it.
Good luck.

Quote:
Same symptoms, just moves between 1012 & 1023 (over the length of the fader throw) and clicks repeatedly at the bottom of the fader throw. It just seems like it's mis-calibrated. The Fader Cal & Utilities have been no help? I have the latest firmware 02.01.02. The unit's serial is UK0414500G Is this a known problem? Should I contact support? Anybody?
