Master MIDI clock to slave sequencer
Hello!
I have been successfully controlling my Ensoniq ZR-76 sequencer's start/stop AND tempo with PT for awhile now. However, when I MIDIed my E-MU XL-7 to PT, all it does is start and stop the XL's sequencer, but does NOT control it's tempo. I've read through the XL-7 manual and can't find anything wrong....though I did ask on their user board. So am I doing something wrong in PT? MIDI Beat Clock is activated within PT. Is there anything else I need to do? Thanks! jt burke |

Re: Master MIDI clock to slave sequencer
I'm not sure if this applies to MTC/Beat Clock as well, but I know when your slaving ProTools to say an ADAT and you want to have it chase the ADATs SMPTE output you have to have ProTools "Online" as well as slaved to the device. It's a button on the transport in ProTools, little clock upper left corner incase you don't know.
This may not pertain to MTC though, I'm not positive but it does seem logical. ProTools won't follow timecode without it being online to my knowledge. Hope this helps

Re: Master MIDI clock to slave sequencer
try midi offet setting, use about the size of samples u use for interface latency
and also u can set up track delay... use MidiTest 4.9 to messure MIDI Interface Latency and use the result as track Delay, prolly around 4 ms. there is also an option for midi beat clock offset |
