Crossfade Length in Transport Window?

Suppose I separate a clip into two for editing, then crossfade between them using the Smart Tool. Before PT 12, when I dragged to create the crossfade I could see the length (in ms) of the crossfade in the Transport. Now I only see the length after the Crossfade is created, or if I select the Crossfade.

I want to see the length in real time as I'm dragging/creating the crossfade so I know how long it is.

Did something change, or is there a Preference I'm forgetting?

My main counter is Min:Sec, sub counter is Bars:Beats.
