Changing sample rate in existing sessions?
For some reason I have some old files set at 24 96 and I cant access them properly, they wont open or playback anymore. I dont know why I set these sessions at that rate, just a dum dum move. Now if I can, I'd like to convert them down to 16 41. Is there any way to do this? Thanks for the help...

Re: Changing sample rate in existing sessions?
so your saying the session file is damaged?
the audio files are in the Audio Files folder in the session folder (if your file management is correct) as should be accessible by any app that plays audio files

Re: Changing sample rate in existing sessions?
Create a new blank session at the desired sample rate and bit depth. Then import Session Data and convert.

Re: Changing sample rate in existing sessions?
Finally got around to calling Focusrite and thru a Team Viewer we found that its the old Session files that wont respond to original 24bit settings. Started new 24bit sessions imported said tracks and it worked fine. Ok thats that. What we also learned is that is PT will not run without the interface. Uplugged said device, restart and PT wont open. iLock in place but no session, I figure it could be some issue with the upgrade fro 8-10 (now 11) but thats none of my concern. Why would I not be able to run PT without and interface?

Re: Changing sample rate in existing sessions?
Can you run video editing software without a screen? Pro Tools must have some way to playback audio(its not much good if you can't HEAR what you're working on). Pro Tools needs to have an "audio engine" and that's what the interface acts as. To run without an external interface, you need to assign an "audio engine" for Pro Tools to use. With a Mac computer, CORE audio is the answer. On a PC(assuming it has on-board audio) you need a working ASIO driver to allow the on-board audio to act is the "audio engine". If your sound-card doesn't offer an ASIO driver, you should try ASIO4ALL, which is a freeware ASIO driver that works for most

Re: Changing sample rate in existing sessions?
Makes sense. Not really gonna question it, just couldnt open a session without said interface, we both thought it was strange.
