File management question
Just had a rude awakening. Deleted some audio files from my desktop that I had dragged into a Protools file, then when I opened the project, those files showed up missing. i had assumed that PT made copies of everything imported and put them in the audio files folder. guess not. I found the preference to make that happen i think, cool, but now I'm wondering about other past projects that I might have dragged a file or two to.
is there a way of making sure all necessary audio files are inside the PT audio files folder? Other than consolidating everything? |

Re: File management question
Use 'Save Copy In' and check 'copy all audio files'. The new session folder will contain all audio.

Re: File management question
Yes, I did that to be safe, but still want to know if there's a command to copy all audio files that AREN'T in the Audio files folder to the folder? If there isn't a way to do that, there should be.

Re: File management question
The steps that Phil gave will gather all audio being used in the session, no matter where it came from (assuming the drives that contain the audio are attached) and save it all in the audio files at the new location specified in the 'Save Copy In' dialog.
