If you have Digidesign hardware: tell SSC to use DirectConnect (in the SSC editor). In Logic, insert a SSC RTAS plug-in on an audio track and tell it which SSC outputs (as assigned per program in the SSC editor) to play. Now go to a MIDI track and have it play the SSC OMS instrument. (Logic has to be using OMS or using OMS and its own system.)

If you don't have Digidesign hardware, you'll have to use Sound Manager. Some audio hardware lets you route Sound Manager through it. The MOTU products, for example.

the problem is: i can'T find the samplecell as a plugin.
i tried to put the ssc plug-in into the vst folder...but no chance.
is there another version of this plugin, or do i have to place it elsewhere?

Well, yes. The plug-in goes in the Plug-Ins folder inside the DAE folder inside your System folder. It's an RTAS plug-in, not a VST one. The Soft SampleCell extension goes inside the Extensions folder in your System folder.

This stuff is all in the manual, by the way. And didn't the installer put everything where it belongs?

I'm having a similar problem. I select SSC as a oms instrument but no sound. Direct Connect is looking ok, I select output 1.
Thanks

hmmmm.
i have the ni-absynth..the installer put 2 directconnect plugs into the dae AND into the vst folder...and it functions.

the ssc installer put's does just the dae-trick..and...it only functions in pt...not in logic...
do i have to install another directconnect plug or program to use it with logic?

I'm having a similar problem: SSC w/Logic 4.8. SSC works fine with PT mix as direct connect, but in Logic, while all other TDM plug-ins are fine (obviously audio is set to DAE) the SSC plug-in is greyed-out. Does anyone know anything about this?

Also , can Logic sync to PT via IAC bus? I used to do with SVP all the time.

Thanks, P

You can use SSC in logic 4.8 only via the
Aux channels not actual tracks or busses.

hope that helps you.
