So, at first glance, I'm thinking that I like these changes. It put the PT HD software within reach with just an upgrade fee from my current vanilla license.

And, it appears that I can buy an HDX system for work for the same amount of money that I had budgeted for just an HD Native system, and not have to buy the nearly useless OMNI I/O.

You mean like fix the CoreAudio bugs that so many folks have been asking for?
I thought there was an 8 I/O limit in other DAW's. So a person can use two 16 I/O's with logic and get 32 analog I/O?

You are thinking of the TDM CoreAudio limit, with HDN or HDX you got all 32 in and out. (or technically in both cases it may be just whatever Digilink IO you can connect to the HDN or first HDX card, but it is way more than 8).

I wonder what the used HDX card prices will go to? Sub $2K?? If one can now have HDX for ~what HDN used to cost - what will folks do?

Kind of a no brainer at $2K. I almost feel sorry for all the guys trying to sell them on Ebay for $4K right now.
