Default Access Violation

Here I was just thinking to myself yesterday how rock solid PT was running there for about 6 months, then this happens.
Having a hard time figuring out exactly whats going on. In the middle of a session I had a completely random freeze, then out of the blue, this access code violation. So I exited the sesh, restarted, and then PT has another messege that it could not initialize the saffire. I unistalled PT, Saffire mix control, updated both and the problem remains. I've checked and win 7 audio settings and made sure every audio control program was on the same level. Trashed prefs and created a new sesh with a complete import of said track, just to see if the file was corrupt. Not sure what to do now. Any help would be appreciated. PT 11.3.1 Win 7 64bit Access code violation 0x0000000000000032 or something like that

Think I got it. Re located all plug ins to unused folder then replaced after starting the session. Windows re configured and it took awhile to restart but its a sign, its a plug in.

From your Sandra report, I noticed that you have two different brands of memory installed. From what others have said here on the DUC, that could cause problems. Also, your H drive is only 5,900 rpm. If that is just used for backup, no problem, but shouldn't be used as an audio drive. But it looks like you have narrowed the issue down to plugins. If the error occurs again, remove all of the plugins and bring them back into the plugins folder a few at a time to find out which one(s) are the culprit. Most likely a third party plugin, not a stock Avid one.

I get these occasionally too, on 11.1.3 (Actually, EVERY version of 11 has done it.)
My workaround, and it works every time, is to open up TWO tracks when I record, and record on the second of the two. For some odd reason, that stops it from happening.

Both good suggestions, thx for the reply. Yeah the 5900 is just a storage drive, I would never lol. I need a few more 7200's cuz the 1.5T is somewhat corrupted or just slow as all hell for some reason. Not too worried about the Ram as of yet, if u have the processing power the Ram is a small step I would imagine, I'm sure it could run better, but it works like a champ for now.
