automation lanes closed after crash

Hello there friends,
I've done multiple searches here and on google and other forums and can't seem to find info on this anywhere. perhaps my wording isn't correct - but here's my question:

after pro tools 11 crashes for me, my sessions open up with all of my automation lanes closed. maybe it doesn't seem like a big deal but when there are tons of different moves on lots of different types of automation on lots of different tracks sometimes it's quite hard to recall on what you even used the automation without seeing it. when the sessions reopen with all the lanes closed - well, it's a big time waster to figure out what had automation where. is there anything i can do to solve this? am i doing something wrong??

Mac OSX 10.8.5
2 x 3.06 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
48GB Ram

Sorry to hear about your problem. You should probably post version numbers of pro tools and the operating system you are using.

For everyone else who is listening and following along, what I hate is that he says so casually "When pro tools crashes". That used to be RARE. Not if, when. That's why I requested that they take the work unexpectedly out of the crash banner in an earlier thread. Sorry to be snarky, but really?

There's a ideascale request for a "show all automation" option for Protools but if it ever comes to be implemented it will not be for 11.x.x

Steve, crashes, as far as I know, also can be due to 3rd party plugins, graphic or asio drivers, virus, etc. Protools doesn't crash that often on my rig, but I get your point.

i often think of how helpful that would be. let's hope avid implements that asap.

well unfortunately i just had my first crash and did exactly what you said but it did not work. tracks don't show the automation lanes that they show in the most recent backup.

Did you try and even older session file backup? Maybe you are opening one that was created after the crash... Remember they can be created every 5-10 minutes. Details view might help.
