Default Rewire and -9128 errors

I have a Pro Tools session with a single aux input (ReWire from Ableton Live), and a single master fader with some TDM plugins.

Playback engine is set at 8192 samples (!), 1 processor, 99% limit, sample rate 96 kHz.

System is a MacBook Pro running 10.6.4, Pro Tools HD 8.1, Magma ExpressBox1 (HD1).

I get -9128 errors (remove RTAS plug-ins or increase the CPU usage limit). I've tried various combinations of buffer size and CPU limit, to no avail. It's a pretty simple session: the only RTAS plugin is the ReWire input. Is there a way to get this working?

I'm a LE user. I've just removed Digirewire plugin from my setup after reading about a lot of problems people have had because of it. I don't really need it anyway.

What it seems to boil down to is PT crashing if you have older incompatible versions of apps that use rewire, especially Melodyne.

You should search the DUC for posts about rewire, melodyne, "unexpectedly quit".

IHTH.

Thanks, but PT is not crashing; it's simply giving me a -9128 error and not being performant. I have had the problem you described previously and resolved it by ensuring that I had up-to-date versions of Ableton, Reason, etc.
