Default Buffer problems - Increase-Decrease-Increase

I have PT6.9LE and an MBOX. My PC has XP Pro (SP2) with a 3.0Ghz processor and 1GB of RAM. Ever since I upgrade to 6.7 then 6.9 I can't record or playback without PT telling me I have to increase the buffers..then it dies again and tells me I have to decrease the buffers. I can't get through a session without this annoyance. I never had this problem with 6.4. Can anyone tell me what I can do? Will upgrading to 7.0 help??

Thanks!!
