192 I/O probs
My 192 I/O started behaving flakey...
The first thing I noticed (but couldn´t track down) was that I had short hickups on playback (very seldom). That started about two weeks ago. The next thing was - also seldom at the beginning - a crackling on the outputs (and showing corresponding level on inputs 15/16; the crackling was on the outputs even though inputs 15/16 were not routed anywhere, really strange). Today it got unusable, crackling all over the place (sounded like digital clock errors or mismatch) and wild noises of relays from the right side of the unit itself. What was strange about that was that it only occured at Fs 44.1, 88.2 and 176 - 48, 96 and 192 were clean! I then called Tech Support here in Germany and talked on the answering machine (as always...) where they promised to call me back - they didn´t. :-( Ok, I´m on a tight deadline so I opened the unit. Because of the noises the unit made I disconnected the ribbon of the Analog In card on the top and the crackling went away. The connection looked good, though... After reconnecting it the crackling is still gone! I hope it stays ok. What could be the cause of the problem? Could there be anything else broken? BTW: The manual says to switch on the 192 I/O before the computer and wait until the lights stop flashing. Well, the lights on my unit don´t flash at all without the computer being turned on (at least not as long as the DigiLink cable is connected)...? Re: 192 I/O probs
Not much help, but...I have a similar PT system (Dual G4, OS X.3.2, PT 6.2.3, 192I/O etc.), and I have not heard anything similar to what you are describing. Seems to me your 192 needs a check.

Re: 192 I/O probs
Does anyone´s 192 I/O have the sample rate and sync mode lights flashing when you power the unit up without the computer being turned on?
