Melodyne options greyed out for me even though I have a full version of 5.3.0 installed, running Catalina here on 2022.9

Did you right click the region, go to Melodyne and edit? If i dont do that, its greyed out for me naturally.

Yeah that was my first thought...

if I've got a session at 96k, does it pipe audio through from Safari etc ok?

Looks like some neat updates. For me there's not a ton of useful things but I'm sure for others there are.

As someone stuck on Ultimate due to having HDN interface it's been kind of disappointing, as I'm paying a lot for not much and that not much gets less and less every year. Still I do love PT and my setup is stable.

I was hoping M1 would be top of the list but I'm sure we'll eventually get it.

I just installed 2022.9 and playing around a bit with Melodyne. I really miss the floating window for editing as opposed to having it permanently at the bottom. For me it doesn't feel as effective. I can't move Melodyne to another screen or just position where I'd like to be able to view other things.

Also, the ARA doesn't seem to be nearly as quick as it is in Logic Pro. With Logic, you pick Melodyne ARA as the plugin, hit play and within a second the whole track is there in the window.

It sounds like several of us would love to have Melodyne as a floating window. I definitely would like a floating window.

I have got to say, I just ran a vocal session with Melodyne ARA and it was really cool! I was able to pitch correct as we comp which allowed us to know right away if the take we chose was going to be the one we want. I am very impressed with the integration and I haven't found any bugs yet.

The only thing that seemed to interrupt the workflow is that once you have several ARA clips in a track, every time you save, you get a window that says Saving ARA and it takes about 2 seconds to do it. Everything kind of freezes when that happens, so that kind of stinks. But overall, I am so grateful for the work they have put in with implementing ARA.

Also... For those of you struggling with the Melodyne window being too small, there is a key command (Cntrl-Option-8) that opens the dock for Melodyne in the largest view possible.

I am so grateful that they kept my Melodyne hotkeys from before.

I also don't see the black graphic box that was always showing up prior. I'm sad that they didn't fix the VCA meter bug on this update since it was previously fixed and then returned on version .7. But graphics seem much better.

I didn't do tons of MIDI stuff yet, but I did try some edits and it appears that the MIDI mess from before is also all cleaned up.

I'm pretty happy with this update so far.

I’ve been thinking for days to upgrade from Monterey 12.5.1 to 12.6 but I just got the nag warning on it when I booted the rMBP in order to download 2022.9 so I ended up doing the MacOS upgrade before the Pro Tools upgrade but did do both. Had no problems so far, did not play with Melodyne (that’s coming after I comp this lead vocal I’m working on) but I did play with Aux I/O. Set up a 16 channel Aux I/O as my system sounds, turned on iTunes or Music as they call it these days and brought it in on an aux track in the session I had up. Worked as promised but there’s more experimenting with this.

installed and doing some work in 2022.9 at the moment, interesting that you cant't use elastic audio and ARA at the same time... I'm so used to quantizing in elastic audio for the past 15 or so years that trusting Melodyne with the quantization feels wrong... can always commit but who wants to do that haha

onward and upward, working fine so far for production
