Default Best G4 for OS9&OSX and where to get it

Hi there, I have been searching the DUC and for some reason can't find the correct answers, so If I'm asking something that's been answered a million times,I'm sorry, but I'm thinking about taking advantage of the price drop on G4 systems and would like to have some advice on what would be the best system to get (as far as performance,plug-in count, etc).
I would like to be able to keep running OS9 with my 001( and all the plug ins I already have) and also run OSX with my M-Box (and eventually 002R). I don't know if would be worth getting a dual processor system or not, and if so, which models would run OS9.
And I would also like to know where I can get G4 systems, good prices,etc..
Thanks a lot !!

Direct from Apple, you can get a dual 1.25 with the bare minimum for $1600, tough to beat. I got a gig of ram from www.crucial.com for $200 and a 120 GB Deskstar for my audio drive from www.newegg.com for $100. Eventually you'll go to OSX, you might as well get the dual processor. It's a rockin' system.

I am thinking about getting a Dual 1.25 myself. Are they still as loud as they were? I read that Apple is no longer supplying a fix for it.Also wondering about the motherboard problems some people had,is Apple still taking them back for the free fix.I have the 001 and would like a G5,but have no intrest in a 002.From what I have seen hear they are poorly made, and are shipped with known defects.I cant't understand why really great companys make great products, and then make the same products inferior and charge more.Fender,Gibson,Digi,General Motors,Sony,etc...

We run PT5.2.1 on OS 9.2.2 on a G-4 dual 1Ghz Quicksilver, and absolutely love it. I'm sure they can be had used for pretty short $$$. The Superdrive is great for backups, we have 3 internal drives in it (1-80gb system/apps/back-up drive and 2-120gb files drives, all WD Caviars) as well as 2 Firedock drives. We get excellent DAVEC scores (32/8) and it's rock solid, never crash system kicks major butt. We've got OSX installed as well, and have had zero problems with this machine (knock wood). Highly recommended.
