Why have both?

Re: D-Verb: Why Low Pass Setting AND Hi Freq. Cut?
"Six of one, and half a dozen of the other."
Very good question. Phil

Re: D-Verb: Why Low Pass Setting AND Hi Freq. Cut?
I'm not in front of my Mac right now, but typically a LP filter is a steep filter that cuts off anything above the set frequency.
A high frequency cut would typically have a gentler slope, just "toning down" the high frequencies - like a treble control. I'll be working in the studio tonight, and double-check this against Dverb...

Re: D-Verb: Why Low Pass Setting AND Hi Freq. Cut?
I'm not sure, but I think that one filter works on the signal before it goes into the reverb, the other one filters the sound coming out from the d-verb plug-in.

Re: D-Verb: Why Low Pass Setting AND Hi Freq. Cut?
That’s precisely what they do, Gigi.
And they have very different effects on the reverb tail. F.ex I would often cut the highs of a vocal going into dverb to limit the amount of essing and not cutting so much of the actual reverb to keep it "sibly".

Re: D-Verb: Why Low Pass Setting AND Hi Freq. Cut?
Is it the high cut that is "pre verb?"

Re: D-Verb: Why Low Pass Setting AND Hi Freq. Cut?
Hi Freq Cut:
-This parameter controls the decay characteristic of the high frequency components of the reverb. It acts in conjunction with the Low Pass Filter control to create the overall high frequency contour of the reverb. When set relatively low, high frequencies decay more quickly than low frequencies, simulating the effect of air absorption in a hall. Low-Pass Filter: -This parameter controls the overall high frequency content of the selected reverb by allowing you to set the frequency above which a 6 dB/octave filter attenuates the processed signal.
