Default Where is my PT 11.3.2 update?

If it makes anyone feel better I can confirm that 11.3.2 is still full of issues, so there's not too much to hold your breath for. Pretty disappointing. The video engine takes over 60 seconds to load, still getting several crashes a day, and now I'm having a very frustrating bug that keeps scrolling my edit window automatically, causing me to lose my place in my session visually. Ridiculous.

The return of working meters for the S3 was fantastic, but that's just because the last EuControl update was designed to break the metering in 11.3.1...so not really much of an achievement there.

If they lower the HD upgrade to PT12 to $300 or lower, I'll do it. Otherwise, I'll keep waiting for a version of 11 that's stable, but I won't keep my hopes up. Not a chance that I'll be letting their 2015 cutoff scare tactic influence me in the slightest. All that does is motivate me to hold out even longer.

Ok thanks for the update. It is "a bit" more logical in this way.

I suppose your "HW insert" issue has forced Avid Support to give you a full bundle to be able to finish your current project (and perform more local tests)… why don't they just let us keep our tools... (still, I won't upgrade to PT12 until I am sure I will not lose PT11…)

The new standard calls for the decoupling of the various elements within a contract. Software licenses can be recognized upon delivery even if VSOE has not been established on the PCS component. In addition, VSOE will no longer be the standard to prove fair value. Management will be able to estimate a selling price for the PCS.

You've got to admire the way Avid interprets, and implements these things : they're separate, but you can't buy one without the other, and if you feel that it does not offer "fair value", and you decide to skip a year, you then get clobbered with a backdated penalty - which ends up making their VSOE look more appealing to their accountants.

Would you expect anything else from a for profit public corporation? I wouldn't.

Are you absolutely sure that is the correct timing of events? Those who just have PT11 vanilla do NOT have the 11.3.2 update in their accounts as I type.

I would expect nothing less from a for profit public corporation. I've said it before, I'll say it again. Avid should NOT be a publicly traded company. It should be a small, privately owned company that is dedicated to serving its customers in the best way possible.

Yamaha doesn't seem to incur the wrath of scorn and disdain from their customer base the way Avid does.

Yamaha's userbase is not as emotionally invested in their products, by and large.... Unless you count Cubase/Nuendo.

exact same thing here. Quite suprised when I found this! Thought that my
11-version was lost after the 12 upgrade. Very strange way of doing things AVID without any explanation....
