Question PT 10 & DIGI002 - What's the consensus?

I suppose if I looked at all of the posts in the PT 10 forums, I'd sort of get an answer for these questions.. but being lazy and wanting a more concise view of things, I'll just start a new thread:

For those who are running PT 9 and a DIGI002 :

1. Is it ($299) worth the upgrade to PT10?
2. What about the legacy RTAS plugins - are they still functional?
3. Install issues?
4. What's your opinion on the learning curve?
5. AAX performance - good or bad?

I really love PT 9 and haven't had any serious issues with Pro Tools since vers. 6.9 (or something like that)....

Thanks to those who may respond,

Don

Well I like 10 so far, just used it by itself and with my 11 rack.
I'm going to try it with my 002 later and the presonus 16.0.2 to see if I can record my band when we play out.
What plugs are you concerned with?
Haven't tried aax yet but open the channel strip and it looks cool!
You'll save yourself some headaches if you read the threads on install issues before you install.
I installed on 3 different macs, an original macpro, a macbook, and a 21inch iMac dual 3.o6 and it opens on all 3.
I upgraded all to lion first though and when I installed Pt10 I uninstalled
Ptools then installed 10.
I'll check back after I try more plugs.
I think going from 9 to 10 is a good move.
Don't get me started on the other pricing though.

I have Digi002R w/ PT10. First it did not work at all (DAE Error -9128 CPU overload). I uninstalled it and installed Pro Tools 9.0.5 again (Full installer). I installed PT10 on another system on another HD, just to have it for some reason. I was astonished to see that this version runs perfect with Digi002R (perfect means it runs). I installed PT10 again on my main System HD and it worked with the following settings: Playback Engine> H/W Buffer Size 1024>Host processors 8 (all processors)>CPU usage 85%>Host engine check ignore errors (without the last there is always -9128 error). When it runs on Aggregate its working with: 1024>3 processors>99%>Host engine unchecked.
You should only use the 002R when you record tracks. For editing always switch to Aggregate. I guess 002 is old stuff. Itīs said that in version 11 the 002 and 003-family is no more supported.

1. Itīs worth when you want to have the new technologies.
2. All plugins are working fine
3. See above
4. I donīt know exactly what you mean, but itīs easy to get into.
5. Havenīt used this channel strip yet. Itīs not interesting for my chain.

I also love Pro Tools since v4.

works nice and fast on a MacMini running 10.7 with a digi002 with 400-800 FireWire adaptor.

had issues with user migration from the old mac, but runs great under a fresh account

I can say i just paid 299 for a clip gain plug in,not a bad deal lol,im jk,it loads much faster than pt9,the only reason i upgraded cause i thought the disk cache was included ,but i rushed to buy before researching, but ive been with digi since session 8,some young bucks dont know what that is,am3,mix plus 3 with a 16 channel pro control,i gave up the studio biz and now just own a 002 with pt10 for songwriting, its the best tool ever, hands down, now if digi can only sell me the disk cache for 299 ill be a happy camper, dont need the rest of the toolkit.overall it was a worthy upgrade except for one little sync glitch with ni maschine that wasnt present in pt9,everything else runs like a marathon
