Set Processor Scheduling to Background Services
System > Advanced > Performance Settings > Advanced tab > select “Background Services” As stated in the tech notes here, Is this correct? I have my Vegas pro machine set to Programs. If i was to make it as stated above it would not run well. Is this a typo or is this indeed correct for a PT Box/? |

This is merely a troubleshooting suggestion. If you need it set to Programs for Vegas to work properly and you're not seeing any problems in Pro Tools after doing the other tweaks, it's safe to say you can keep it set to Programs.

Cool
Ok thanks man While i have you here.. :)) Is it super critical to have a system with Two Quad cores on board? I am starting to wonder if i should have grabbed a server mother board with two cpu sockets. At present i am building a box with a single Q core at 2.66. HD2 Pcie. |

The only specific models we qualify for use with HD on WinXP are the ones listed on this page:
http://digidesign.com/index.cfm?navi...ngid=100&eid=8 Or, for PCIe systems, the HP xw8600: http://digidesign.com/index.cfm?navi...gid=100&eid=85 Doing a custom built HD PCIe WinXP system is getting into unknown territory and I wouldn't recommend it. |

Hmmm Well i sure hope this works. That HP is nothing more than a Server board with 500 chip set. Hmmm.. Well ill know soon i spose.
Ill return to new egg if need be and grab a server board then if it dont. Seems i see some guys running x48 chip sets with PCIe. |
