Default Mbox as interface but trouble with other progs

Hey!
I'm using the mbox2 as an audio interface and my monitors are pluged in it.
the problem is, that i cant hear nothing in programs like soundforge or wavelab, even internet sound is not audible.windows media player and winamp work although not properly because after clicking an mp3 it takes two seconds till the music starts playing...thats annoying too.
does anyone know a solution for my problem?
thx
