Default Anyone Using Octopre/Lightpipe Input into PT LE???

Hi
Just hooked up a new Focusrite Octopre with the ADAT optional card installed to my 003r. I set the Octopre to 48kHz and 24 bit. I open a new PT session and set to 24 bit 48kHz. I plug in a microphone into channel 1 of the Octopre and set a new track input to Input 9 to correspond to the first optical input. So far so good, I get signal into PT.

Problem is I hear the dreaded occasional click indicating a clock source issue I believe. When I change the Clock Source in Hardware Setup to Optical instead of Internal, clicking goes away. Obvious solution I know...

I guess I am surprised the Octopre doesn't have a Lightpipe IN so that the 003r could be the master clock source.

Can anyone else using the Octopre/ADAT Lightpipe input option confirm that this is the correct configuration BEFORE I track 10 songs with a band tomorrow?

Thanks

You should be able to use the External word clock synchronization with BNC connector use the 003 as the master clock. It sucks that ADAT card does not have an in/out. Instead it has two outputs.

When I bought my Octopre a few years ago I bought the Digital Option Card that included AES,SPDIF, and ADAT outputs. It also included a BNC connection for external wordclocking (external Sync). This card costs about $100 more than the ADAT only card but has been worth it to me.

I use all 18 inputs on my 002r. I use the Focusrite Digital Option Card on my ISA 430 MkII (2 channel, high quality) SPDIF output into the 002r SPDIF input and use it as the master clock. Then I go ADAT out from my Octopre into the 002r. I connect via BNC wordclock from the ISA 430 to the Octopre BNC. This setup has worked great for years but it requires the slightly more expensive Octopre Digital Option Card.
