Default Error

I keep getting this error every time I try to fire up Pro Tools:

Operating System Error

Exception 0x0000005 - EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
While reading memory at 00000025 CS:EIP=001B:070E508A SS:ESP=0023:00126C88

It has never done this before. I had a virus on my computer so it may be happening
because I manually cleaned out a lot of things on my hard drive and may have
accidentally deleted a PT file or something.

Uninstall/reinstall PT & see if you're good.

If I were you, especially after a virus episode, I'd bite the bullet and go for a fresh install of XP.

If your computer has an OEM XP license sticker, you can legally use any OEM install disk you can find/borrow (comparable to your version of XP) to do the reinstall, using your original XP product key.

If this was a retail XP version install, and you've lost your materials, obviously you'd need to purchase a new copy.

When I bought this computer, it prompted me to make recovery disks (8 of them). Would any of these disks have XP on them?
