Red face MIDI Drums need some love!

I am making the jump into midi (as a rocker I have avoided this, as a musician in Salt Lake it is unavoidable as attitude twards Bands and touring sucks), I would like to use my Roland TD5 as my main controller through a MOTU Midi Xpress XT USB with an Alesis DMPro as a secondary brain. I am not getting my M Powered 7.3 to see the midi. I have set up the studio and still nothing, I would like some assistance before someone unsuspectingly gets thrashed as this gets more frustrating.

Windoze xp servishamck 3. I think I may need an external progam such as battery to map out the brain is what I am turning up with reasearch. I am miditarted and working on changing that.

I have tried just opening the PT (7.3) midi set up and the brains show up there, but no info from them seems to get to the session. I am getting that they are not mapped(?) correctly? Maybe.....I am an analog rock n roll guy resistant to change making the jump to progress. Thanks!
