DM5 MIDI interface to Pro Tools Xpand issue.
I recently connected my Alesis DM5 to Pro Tools via MIDI. I am using Xpand Software included with Pro Tools. The way I have it set up is my roland drum pad (connected to DM5) triggers the sounds native to Xpand. I have successfully set up 4 drum pads. However, the response from striking the pad is somewhat awkward. Sometimes the sound does not generate when I strike the pad. When it does work, the correct sound that I select from Xpand is played. If I disconnect the MIDI cable from the DM5 and patch it into a keyboard. All notes are played consistently and accurate. It appears the DM5 has some parameters that need to be adjusted so I can hit notes consecutively and hear the sound.

Re: DM5 MIDI interface to Pro Tools Xpand issue.
Ya I have a roland td-5 into a motu midi express xt, usb to my desktop, my m audio card into ch 1 of the motu, td 5 into 2 and dm pro into 3 and get nothing. My pads won't get recognized, no sound triggering and I am totally lacking midi skill set ( I am working hard on this which is why I am here) where do I start? 56BelAir, have you found anything out as to how to use your edrums as a controler?
