Randomizing midi drums -- How much?
How much randomizing of velocity and/or timing do you guys do to a midi track that will be drums? I don't want it to sound mechanical. In my case, all current midi is at the same volume. Also, I already recorded all the other instruments TO the unaltered timing (I'll be replacing the drums), so how much can I make timing wiggle without making a mess? Any tips?
Thanks. |

Re: Randomizing midi drums -- How much?
Very, very little. ...actually if you were trying to emulate the drummer in one of my bands, you may want to set it to 100%; his drum hits sound completely random sometimes.
