Mbox 2 spdif out

Hi

Does anyone know if you need to enable the spdif outs on the mbox 2 to get them to work? I've been to the i/o setup and can only see then 2 analogue outs displayed no spdif? Do you have to connect a device for it to show up or is there something really obvious I'm missing??

The MBox2 USB right? If so, the MBox2 S/PDIF outs only mirror the analog outs and are not addressable as an independent pair. You can use the S/PDIF input, but they don't give you the no-latency monitoring like the analog inputs do (mix knob doesn't work on S/PDIF). Using the S/PDIF out to your mains also nixes the no-latency monitoring mix knob thing. You're at the mercy of you're buffer settings which some folks don't have a problem with if low enough.
