Delay Compensation inconsistent

I noticed that sometimes on a mix one track would send fine to an FX bus (no delay/phasing) but then I'll assign to another FX buss, and it'll be NOTICEABLY delayed with the return whilst other are fine through that return...
The plugin on that buss seems to make no difference. Sometimes happens with HW insert too.
Thoughts?

I'm having an issue of Delay Compensation being inconsistent also.

I'm in the middle of a mix, with Delay Compensation set to Long, there is a noticable flam happening between the overhead and snare. They're both routed to busses which are routed to busses, which is routed to mix outputs. I even have the same plugins on both sets of busses.

If I turn off DC, and turn it back on, SOMETIMES the problem is fixed, definitely not all the time, but ultimately, if I turn it to Off and back to Long enough times (or sometimes restarting Pro Tools), eventually it works.

Any suggestions for this? It's seriously inconsistent and frustrating.


and it's definitely not a problem with the tracking, or anything of that sort, as it works fine sometimes.

So... I just set up a new mix, and there's A LOT wrong with ADC... Lots of flams and badness. Much like you describe.
I just realized it's the first mix since I updated to 9.0.5...

What is the maximum system delay? What is the ADC view's color? Is it red on some tracks? And which plugins do you use on the AUX tracks? And did you turn off the DSP cache, the culprit for so many problems?

I am still at 8.1.1, but I can't imagine that Avid is at version 9.0.5 with such an issue... There will be another reason for this.

Repairing permissions and restarting seems to have done the trick...
Where do I turn off DSP cache? Couldn't find that...

I don't have that... Maybe not an HD Native feature? I noticed you're on full HD...

Oh you're right, I am sorry... It's available in HD only.
