HD with generic MTC reader

Can anyone shed some light on this...

I am trying to use a generic MTC reader to get smpte tc into the PT HD. I used this setup yesterday with a mix plus and 5.1.3 and it worked but today on 5.3 it does not.

Here is the setup:
G4 867, os9.2
HD2
SMPTE to MTC reader connected to midisport1x1 usb.

The mtc reader is getting TC and the midisport is recieveing midi info. OMS is configured correctly and is the same setup (on the same computer) as yesterday, but with the HD and 5.3 instead of Mixplus and 5.1.3

I cannot see incoming TC in the session setup window.

Peripheral is set to generic timecode reader and I have tried all the available ports.
I tried reloading OMS. I tried trashing pref files. I tried restarting the computer.
If I get MTC into PT my life will be joyous and fulfilled.

Has anyone figured this out?

I'm trying to get MTC from ACID on a PC into ProTools HD, 5.3.1. On my Unitor8 II, I can see that MTC is going out of the PC. But ProTools isn't getting it properly. Or I can't tell?

Put it this way, when I push play in ACID, ProTools isn't playing.

Any help is appreciated.
