pro tools crashes when launching 'digirewire'

my pro tools crashes when launching 'digirewire' on startup.

As a stop-gap, you could move it to the unused plug-ins folder (Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-ins). Is this a Leopard related problem by any chance?

yeah you are right. but what is really weird about it is that it worked fine now for over 1 month...

Hey guys.... anyone else has this problem, my system has been working fine until today, i have tried everything in the trouble shooting guides, i have uninstalled and installed both reason and pro tools and i still can't get protools running. Any tips out there? someone who has managed to fix it in some other way?? Thanks

I just had the same issue on my HD system in 10.5.1. I solved it by removing the Melodyne ReWire Device parts from /Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/ReWire/

You might see what items are in that same location that might be causing ReWire to hang up PT.
