Output from PTLE 6.4 to Mac speaker output

Is there anyway I can get my sessions to output to the speaker/headphone output of my mac or does it "have to" go through my digi001 for me to listen to it.

I know I can plug my computer speakers into the headphone jack of the digi001, but most of the time my 001 is tucked away and in its rack case.

Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

No way that I know of. PT won't run without the hardware connected anyway.

Well that's a trick. Pro Tools doesn't (or isn't suppose to) launch without the hardware connected. Then again, the 001 PCI card serves the role of hardware even without the breakout box connected. Are you saying that you're launching Pro Tools without the b.o.b. connected?

As to the original question, you're simply not going to be able to get audio from Pro Tools except thru your digi hardware.

I wonder if you can still use the S/PDIF, and ADAT without the box hooked up. That would be interesting.

I leave my 001 box hooked up, and run the Mac's sound out into the monitor inputs. If I need to use the sound out (like I do for some games or previewing sounds in X) I just push the button. I don't have any "computer speakers" on this rig.
