Default am I meant to update?

I am on Pro Tools Studio version 2022.7.0. am I meant to update? all is fine on Monterey for me

I'm on .7 as well.
Things go a different direction after that with the implementation of ARA and a modification to the GUI.
So unless you would like the new those features there is no absolute need unless you do a lot of detailed MIDI editing.

There was a fix for a particular MIDI issue (you would know by now about that if you needed the fix) and a VCA/GUI issue for Mac users I believe.

But if you don't use the affected features/options then no biggy. Sounds like your golden.

I have .12 in my account if I really need to do some extensive MIDI editing but things work well enough in .7 for me right now.
I also prefer the GUI in .7. No major issues, just prefer the layout more.

It's cool that we each have a version that works specifically for us.
Well, glad to say that after spending so much on support (and buying a new perpetual after it's fixed) over the years.

All in all, happy with having both .7 & .12.
