Default What protools do i need for the motu ultralite?

Hope i dont get me ass kicked here, iv tried googling for the last 15 min to find what pro tools i need but no luck...

In a few months im buying a new mac and i was planning to buy Mbox 2 Pro, but just today i was talking to my friend who owes me money and she offered me her brand new Motu Ultralite instead of paying me back so i said yeah. She said its compatible with pro tools but what one? Pro Tools LE or M-Powered? Im guessing M-powered from what iv sussed out so far.

If for some odd reason its not, its no big deal as i didnt pay for it :) and il continue to get an mbox. But yeah she is certain its compatible with pro tools.

Cheers guys.

Protools will only work with digidesign hardware or certain M-Audio hardware. Motu is not supported.

I think she is wrong on this. The only way any motu unit is compatible would be if it had a lightpipe output patched into the lightpipe input of a DIGI 002 or 003. If she is so sure, maybe she will set it all up for you.......Of course it probably WILL work with Logic or Cubase, but if you want Pro Tools, you need DIGI hardware, or M-Powered with M-Audio hardware.

you could get it work on pro tools

using the SP/DIF, just buy a M-Audio Audiophile 2496 (using the breakout cable) or a 192

then get Pro Tools M-Powered

the problem with this is you will only get 2 channel max. so if you were using the whole 8 channels on that then it would have to come out on 2.

@ kev568
You may need to adjust your buffer settings it seems like you are experiencing some pre-latency??

@dreaded_guitarist I hope you were not clicking that link aimlessly for a year until our timeline caught up with kev568

Pro Tools 9 was released in 2010 and kev568 posted it in 2009.
