A7N8X Errors...Help
Hi
I have just finally ventured into the world of protools with the 002 Rack. The previous forums have been great in sorting out various issues, how ever I seem to have one bug left and can't seem to fing anyone with similiar issues. Basically when I use keyboard short cuts or Control Click with the mouse playback/recording stops and I get 6085 and 9093 "operating system held off interupts for too long" errors, this does not hapen all of the time though. Has anyone else had this problem and know of any way to fix it. My system is as follows: AMD Athlon 2600 XP processor 512 MM PC2700 RAM ASUS A7N8X-LA motherboard (this is avialable with certain Compaq Computers) NVIDIA Ge Force 4 AGP 64MB Onboard Graphics Swann PCI firewire card (with VIA chipset) Audio Hard Drive Seagate Barrcuda 80GB 7200 rpm with 8Mb cache 40Gb System drive 5400rpm Everything else is diabled and there appear to be no interupt conflicts. This system also has ACPI installed. The computer ships with XP installed on a recovery partition so reinstalling XP as an upgrade to remove ACPI is not an option. My Dave C tests are getting up to 32 + 9. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance Simon |

Re: A7N8X Errors
Hi
Thanks for the quick response. I am currently using a USB mouse however I only just changed to the USB mouse from the PS2 mouse which still gave me the same errors. These errors still occured when I was using the PS2 mouse and had disabled all of the onboard USB ports. The one thing that did imporove the system slightly was changing the speed at which the keyboard repeats letters at when a key is held down, it just takes a little longer now for the errors to occur. Thanks again |

Re: A7N8X Errors
Hi
Hi I thought that I would add that I have just tried the above suggestion regarding the USB mouse again, and I still definately get the 6085 and 9093 errors. Has anyone else had this problem??? Or does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Re: A7N8X Errors
Hello
I just thought that I would post my progress just in case anyone has this problem. It is finally fixed, I tried a USB keyboard and mouse and the system is rock solid. I know that USB mice and keyboards are normally not recommended however changing from the PS2 keyboard has cleared up all of my 6085 and 9093 errors. Thanks again Simon |
