Cool How do I achieve the "Pop" Harmony/Vocal Effect?

I am running Pro Tools 8.0.4 on PC and I am trying to figure out what software/hardware/technique I need to achieve that doubled pop vocal effect as seen in this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3J_ywpJsSw

It's about 35 seconds in and is what i'm trying to achieve. Any help? Suggestions for equipment? Thanks Guys!

What I hear is doubled main vocal and probably at least 6 other layered variations in the other sections of the songs. I hear the "am radio effect, chorus, flanger and delays...

In other words, there is no preset to save you from plenty of work...

Fun work tho

I use the Antares Harmony EFX http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com...LAID=413409150 and you have to record the lead vocals 3 times by having the singer sing right along with them self 2 or 3 times then take those 3 vocals and duplicate the 2 best takes and use those 5 vocal tracks, then Mix them Hard Left, Hard Right, Center, create a Aux track for Delay Short, Delay Long, Chorus Thin, Chorus Fat use a Great Reverb and the Harmony EFX all on Aux tracks and then bus the vocal tracks over and Mix the levels untill you get the effect you want on the vocals, thats what I do.

GREAT! That gives me some ideas of what to try. I'm a little old school in the way where I would rather write the harmonies and actually have a vocalist sing them, but some of these are just getting too digital to try to replicate with vintage gear. Do you think there is a way to do it with Melodyne? I currently own that, but I've heard great things about the Antares stuff!

Skitch Bryant, I also have the Celemony Melodyne but I could never figure out how to make it work? IM sure it would work for what you are trying to do, but for $49.00 you cant beat the price on the Antares Harmony EFX plus you have to think that Antares makes Auto Tune which is basicly the Pop Vocal sound you are looking for altho not so turned up like on the R&B, Rap songs. So I would try the Celemony Melodyne with the 5 vocal tracks like I said but I would still order the Antares Harmony EFX while you can get it for the $49.00. Its also great with Keyboard, Strings and other VIs in your collection. Oh and you are going to want to use Automation to pump the Vocal effect you are looking for in the sections you need it and to bring it back down. When I Mix I Automate every track any way Muting,Changing Volumes and changing Effects Like Delay, Pan, Chorus and reverb thru out the song. So give it a try and good luck.

Is there a plug-in that's bundled with whatever comes with MP 8.0 as a default plug-in that will do basically the same thing as the Antares Harmony EFX?

The Celemony Melodyne does pretty much the same thing but like I said, I could never get the Celemony Melodyne to work for me and since the Antares Harmony EFX was only $49.00 I bought is and use it, and like I said since Antares make Auto Tune I would rather use the Antares Harmony EFX anyway.

Spend some time on the Celemony website. They've got a lot of useful tutorials if you take the time to view them.

Since this discussion I tried to reload the Celemony Melodyne and everytime I try and Load it onto my computer it says you have to be the Computer Administrator to load and I am the Computer Administrator. Tried like 3 times, rebooted but it keeps asking me to sign on as the Computer Administrator so I gave up. If somebody from Celemony Melodyne Tech Support would like to advise on the technical issue IM having I will try and load it again.
