Default Plugin mapping templates.

Hi everybody!

Just bought a D-Command ES 24ch. Very happy so far.

I'm looking into plugin mapping and I wonder if there are any templates out there that someone might be interested in sharing?

I don't mind mapping all my plugins myself (although it's a big job going through the whole Waves Mercury bundle, lot's of UAD plugins etc), but I'm curious how others are using the desk when it comes to this.

Would be great to be able to share plugin mapping templates between users!

Cheers,

Christer

80:20 rule - you'll probably do 80% of your work with 20% of your plugins, just map your goto non EQ/dyn plugs, like verbs and delays.

Also - plugin maps is pretty crippled by a dcommand bug at the moment, we've been waiting on a fix since PT9, hopefully it will come soon.
Basically your maps wont stay on the board when you select them and return to them. Each time you return they will default to non-mapped and you'll have to hit map again, doubling your key presses in a mix. PITA. Only effects dcommand.
Hopefully get fixed soon. Call tech support if it bugs you.

Thanks Brent.

Yes, that was my plan. To map the plugins I use the most.

Still like the thought of sharing between users though.

Thanks for those video tutorials by the way. I've seen them all!

Hi Brent.

Good news.

Been mailing with Dan Spier at Avid since August regarding the plugin map bug, and he sent me a mail today saying that they finally fixed this in PT 10.3.3.

In "Read me" pdf there is no a single word on it.
The only one related to icon is:
D-Control Custom Fader plug-in maps no longer need to be recalled after every Channel Select operation. (PTSW-158750)

...not D-Command though...

But I'll check it on my ES24 on Sunday in the studio.

I think that is a typo as it never was wrong on the D-Control. I put 10.3.3 on today and it now remembers on a channel by channel basis whether the map key is pressed!
