Default DIGI 001 & Logic AP 4.5

I still have problems with the DIGI 001's driver and Logic AP 4.5. When I run Logic AP the same error message appears 4 times:

Digidesign Digi 001: Chan 1-2
Error -6002: Can't Initialize Direct IO
OK

When I quit Logic my system crash. I uninstalled the DIGI 001's drivers and everything works fine. But I cannot work this way, installing and uninstalling drivers.
DIGI 001 and Logic 4.5 works together on Macintosh, so, there are drivers for Macintosh. Why don't you do the same for Windows?
Please I need a solution as soon as possible, because I purchased both (DIGI 001 & Logic AP 4.5) 4 month ago.

Thanks
Imox

I too have problems with the DIGI 001's driver and Logic AP 4.61. I have simply tried to disable the Digi 001: Chan 1-2 driver under "device manager". But when I startup Logic AP 4.61 it just says "Error -6002: Can't Initialize Direct IO
" Any idea what I can do? I'm fairly new to Logic AP 4.61 and would appreciate any help.
I do know that it's neccessary to disable the digi001's midi port.

Thanks for any help.

Hi:

I fix the problem, thanks Eugene, well, first I must to say that Digi 001 and Logic AP DON’T WORKS TOGETHER, yeah, it’s the damn truth.

Well, as I said I fix the problem (I don’t know how long), doing this:

1) First I disabled the Digi’ audio and MIDI drivers in Control Panel>Multimedia>Devices, restart your PC, and run logic. The Error 6002 won’t appear, well, it should not appear.
2) When you are in Logic, go to Audio menu>Audio Hardware & Driver>Audio Driver 2> and disable Direct I/O. Import or record audio (yes, with your other sound card, if you have other), then close the software.

Doing this Logic must to run fine, I’ve done other step as well:

· Repeat the two steps above, then quit Logic and enable again the Digi’s audio and MIDI drivers, reboot your computer, run Logic again, the error 6002 should not appear, being in Logic go to Audio menu>Audio Hardware & Drivers>Audio Driver 2> and Direct I/O should be disabled.

And when you quit Logic your system should not crash, well, I hope so. I repeat; in my system these steps worked.

I hope this help
Imox

-Have any of you tried installing Wave Driver 1.6cs5?

-It is supposed to address the -6002 "Can't Initialize Direct I/O" error:

The 1.6cs5 driver DOES NOT fix the Digi/Logic boot conflict.

Even 5.1 does not fix this problem.

so how will that driver make any difference
that driver should be included in any new upgrade!

Hello Imox

Your post is not, well... very clear.

I have the LAP - Digi combo in my studio, and is working with it every day.
You ned as you say to disable the wave-driver - you DON´T need it enyway, and midi-driver under multimedia devices.
LAP use dio just like PT, so you have to set up LAP to use that...

For MIDI to work you need another soundcard, or MIDI-i/o card.

So LAP is working on a Digi-system, you just have to set it up..

What people want is to be able to use protools le and then switch to logic and not have to change anything in windows and without having to use another soundcard for midi. If this can't be done then just say so, then we will have to choose either logic or protools, because I like touse both this is a real pain.

Is this not supposed to be included in the 5.1 upgrade? I am using PT LE 5.1 on Win ME (PT LE was clean instaled not upgraded).
