Still authorize problems

Hi folks,

I have on my iLok Pro Tools mpowered 7.3 , 7.4 and 8.00 , all downloads. Unfortunately for one reason or another, I can not use any of these programs anymore, while I had for many years no problems.

When I start PT, it keep asking for my auth code, wich I don't see on the iLoK website, although they are licenced. I have also downloaded the last drivers for the ilok.

What I really don't understand is the fact that on the Avid website under "my account", I don't see any purchases that I've made.

What has changed on your setup since the programs quit working? Re-installed Pro Tools?
When I installed a new processor and operating system last year, of course I had to reinstall Pro Tools. At the time I couldn't find my authorization code, so Avid gave me one that worked. I since went back to my old emails from Digidesign and found where they had emailed me the authorization code for the Pro Tools upgrade I had purchased and downloaded. I don't know the technical aspects of how the iLok works, but my experience tells me the Pro Tools authorization codes are not on the iLok site, they are given to you by Avid.

the problem is that I don't know how to contact the AVID technical support.
It seems that we have to pay for that. Thats not really the problem, but I don't know wich steps i have to take to recover my software, I just want to work in PT again

Yeah you really need authorization codes

It has nothing to do with your I lock it asked for your authorization codes the first time that you install ProTools

You really need to be able to ask them to help you find it in your account

Or if you have an old and large email account you may be able to find it archived somewhere there

I keep all my emails related to music production in a separate folder in my Gmail account

Now that I think more about it, when I couldn't find the Pro Tools authorization code, I called the vendor I purchased Pro Tools from for a replacement code, not Avid. From their records, they knew I had purchased the product and gave me the code. But, I did just now go back and check my old emails to confirm that the original authorization code came in an email from Digidesign. Once you have the code, your iLok should recognize the software. I didn't have to do anything with the iLok when I was re-installing Pro Tools. Now, if something is wrong with your iLok, that is a different problem someone else will have to help you with.

I also set up a word document containing all of the codes, passwords, etc. related to music production software and Microsoft software, and saved it in several places on different computers.

Yeah I have XL spreadsheet also that has passwords auth codes


still have my auth codes from 7.4
