Default PT 8.0.5 LE vs PT 10.3 HD on an i7 quad core w/ 8gb ram, SSD and 11r

Ok so running Windows 7 x 64, i7 ivy, 8gb ram, SSD and an 11r.
(anyone need to know any more specs)

What is the advantage/disadvatage or pros/cons of these versions?

is there anything i could gain/lose for simple home recording

im familiar with 8, but i was thinking 10 could take advantage of the power

thanks, if you need to more ask please :)

You would gain much more by going to PT11 instead of PT10. Pro Tools 11 is 64 bit while all other versions are 32 bit..... meaning PT11 can use substantially more ram while PT10 and lower are capped at 4GB on a 64 bit OS.

sorry guys,
i read the first topic without investigating further

i should have consulted with benoni's excellent vid tutorials and fixes

i realize i have to just straight out buy the pt 11 w/ ilok2

question is (disregaurding price):

in order to get the 11r window/rig layout in pt 11, it seems i have to coinstall 10.3.6

now does this mean i also have to buy 10.3.6 and a new ilok license?

i really want the 11r big window (not the smalll one in the top menu bar)

and i need it to run on my x64 i7 quad w/8gb ram, you see?

(p.s. my 11r came with 8.0.5 LE, so thats what I have now)

anyway, any help on how to do all this besides anything i might be missing in benonis tutorials would be of great help
thanks guys!

I think I have some videos that already detail this, but I don't remember what they are called, I think "Eleven Rack w/ Pro Tools 11" or something.

But anyway, you cannot use the On-Screen editor in Pro Tools 11 at this time.

You would use Pro Tools 10.3.7 if you need the editor.

A Pro Tools 10 license comes with the Pro Tools 11 purchase, its a bundled license.
