Audiosuite causes pro tools to freeze

I had similar issues awhile back.....what I did was move all files off of my external drive....reformatted....put files back....so far have not had the issue again......this was done shortly after the release of pt 11.1.1

I am currently having this problem also.

When I launch a session from my disc drive audio suite causes PT to beachball. This happens when I try to audition the audio suite or when I try to render it.

When I move the project folders to my desktop however, everything works as expected. I am about to try and reformat my disc drive

I also get this in PT 11.3.

Late 2013 rMBP.

I'll try formatting my external HDD at the weekend. I never had this problem in PT 9 though.

I'm having the same issue. Clean install of 10.10.2. I've tried both PT 11.2.1 and 11.3.1 and had the same issue. Also tried with a USB core audio interface and Digi 003. Anyone found a resolution? I'm on a Mac Pro 2010 2.4ghz 8-core with 56gb of RAM.

I have three boot partitions on my system so I can try out ML, Mavericks and Yosemite. And so far Yosemite/PT11.3.0 has been too unstable, including the AudioSuite freezing, for me to use Yosemite in production. Haven't tried PT11.3.1 yet but I don't think it will be any better.

What has been the most stable combo you've found? Should I roll it back to Mavericks. This was a new to me Mac so I didn't try ML or Mavericks. My old Mac Pro was solid on 10 on Lion. I'd like to use 11 if there is a stable version of it. I'm thinking to install Mavericks so I have both 10 and 11 (even if it isn't supported I know a number for whom it is working well.

Both Mountain Lion and Mavericks have been equally stable for me with both PT10 and PT11. The only glitch with Mavericks and PT11 was with BFD3.0.3 (random crashes of PT11) but that was fixed with the BFD3 public beta 3.0.46 and it's been solid since.

I formatted my drive but the same thing is still happening.

I fixed this by formatting my external drive in OS extended format instead of exfat. It's a little frustrating though because obviously now I can't write to it from my Windows machine...

You can if you use MacDrive on the Windows machine.
