Default Trouble with opposite error codes

Recently have bought M-box 2 Pro with PT 7.4 (upgraded it to PT 8.0). From the start I'm getting error code -9092 (the OS held off interupts for too long, try increasing H/w buffer size). This is with 512 samples chosen; when I choose 1024 samples I get quite the opposite error code -9129 i.e. to reduce H/w buffer size.
The frustrating thing is that this is what I get when I try only to play the simplest track so JUST to play it, without any plug-ins, editing, only one track imported and hit play
I am close to setting it all on fire
I'm using laptop Dell Inspiron 6400/ E 1505 with Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5500@ 1.66GHz, 80GB HDD + external HDD 320GB (2.5'', 5400 RPM, USB 2.0),
2.5 GB DDR2
OS: Windows XP Professional, SP 2.0

I HAVE TRIED EVERY SINGLE ADVICE I COULD'VE FIND ON DIGI WEB SITE, NOTHING WORKS!

Please can anyone help

External hard drives need to be Firewire, and 7200 rpm. Yours is USB and 5400 rpm, which is known to be problematic on both counts, and Digi clearly lists USB drives as a bad idea. So I'm guessing you haven't yet tried EVERY advice you could find, this is a very elemental requirement.
THEN it gets tricky. Dell firewire controllers are notorious for NOT working well with external FW drives. So for this to work AT ALL, you need:
(A qualified external FIREWIRE drive with the Oxford 911 chipset.
(A qualified cardbus firewire controller.

sw rec.... thank you very much for your reply

I have to appologize for even mentioning external USB drive. I had my laptop and external USB drive when I bought Mbox2Pro and PT. Obviously I wanted to try to make it work with the system I had, before spending some more money. I have to admit I am not a genius when it comes to computers, but I'm learning every day.
I've learned the external USB drive is no good in this case so first I tried to use my system drive which I believe is not the best solution too, but wanted to see if the problem still exists and it does with no improvement. Still getting same error codes for just playing a simple track. I've set my laptop for PT use and nothing else. So this is why I'm puzzled. I wouldn't want to buy something and still have the same problem.
Perhaps I got something else wrong, so far I haven't found anything in my system that is not compatible with PT....still digging....

Recording to the system drive is also warned against, more problematic than a USB drive. So to recap:
So for this to work AT ALL, you need:
(A qualified external FIREWIRE drive with the Oxford 911 chipset.
(A qualified cardbus firewire controller.

I bet if you get a firewire or a external HD (Western Digital maybe?) with at least 7200rpm and an eSATA cable.......most of your problems will go away.

And as sw rec said......go through the set up thread LINE BY LINE and do EXACTLY what they say! If you don't you are only setting yourself up for frustration.

LOL...Trust me, I speak from experience!
