Default Mac cleaners

Is there any advice out there regarding programs like 'CleanMyMac 3' or any of the other system cleaners out there?

I'm just wondering if they really help to free up resources or if it's just more hype...or worse, damages PT files somehow!

Thanks!

I use CleanMyMac 3 and works perfectly. It does free up some resources.

Whatever cleaner you use, you just need to make sure you uncheck the audiounit cache if it's included in their cleaning selection. Otherwise whenever you clean you will have to revalidate all the AU plugs for whatever apps use that cache and that becomes time consuming.

Yeah it's a nice little app, great for uninstalling apps that don't have uninstallers. I wouldn't use the Smart Cleanup function though.

I was having issues with OSX Mail and the Speed Up Mail function worked a treat.

Highly recommended here.

I use Clean My Mac 3 every day.

Before I begin work on my main workstation to clean prefs, logs, and cache files and keep things tidy. After I run it I restart and then repair each disk i'm working with.

I routinely do this every single day.
