DAE Freezes g4 when cpu wakes up

Ok I have my computer set so it never sleeps but if I force it to sleep under the special menu , after awhile if I hit a key and ty to start ptle the cpu freezes at DAE load and have to restart with the reset button....should shut the mac down befor I use ptle or is there a fix to this---Is it hurting my cpu to always turn on and off --

If your computer goes to sleep, you can not run ProTools until you reboot. End of story [img]images/icons/frown.gif[/img]

Well sould I leave it run all the time or shut the computer down each time Im finished using it.

I leave mine on all week, 24-7, and restart every morning. Then I shut it down on the weekends. This is by no means a standard..just what seems to work the best for me.

Oh yeah, and I would recommend getting an un-interuptable power supply (UPS) for your mac if you don't have one already. I have frequent power outages here in my area (we here in Utah are still getting used to the electricty thang!) and it was well worth the investment.
