Pro Tools 10 Missing Tracks

Hello,

After tracking sessions using Pro Tools HD 10.1.2 (Accel System) opening the session on Pro Tools 10.1.2 non hd (laptop) a dialog appears that says "some tracks were dropped because the maximum number of disk tracks was exceeded".

In the past, when a session had to many tracks, the tracks past the limit were made inactive but in this case, the tracks are actually removed from the session! The original files are in the audio files folder but the tracks with plugins and regions are not in the project.

Anyone seen this before or have a known work around?

Start a new session then import the tracks from your original session almost to your track limit, deactivate those tracks, then import the rest. It's a work around that should be pretty easy but obviously not a fix for the issue...

Is there a setting somewhere that is affecting the way the track count is read? We track in templates and only have the tracks with regions activated, but each session contains many more than 96 tracks because of this. In the past, these projects would just open and the track active state would remain untouched.

There must be an easier way than having to import session data multiple times.

Anyone know why this is happening all of a sudden?

I just saved the error log from the startup screen, here what Pro Tools is saying about the omitted tracks:

Track "Group Vox 7" was dropped because the maximum number of disk tracks was exceeded
Track "Group Vox 8" was dropped because the maximum number of disk tracks was exceeded
Track "Lead Vox 1" was dropped because the maximum number of disk tracks was exceeded
Track "Double Lead Vox 1" was dropped because the maximum number of disk tracks was exceeded
Track "Lead Vox 2" was dropped because the maximum number of disk tracks was exceeded
Track "Double Lead Vox 2" was dropped because the maximum number of disk tracks was exceeded
Track "3.01" was dropped because the maximum number of disk tracks was exceeded
Track "Backing Vox 2" was dropped because the maximum number of disk tracks was exceeded
Track "Backing Vox 3" was dropped because the maximum number of disk tracks was exceeded
Track "Backing Vox 4" was dropped because the maximum number of disk tracks was exceeded
Track "Print" was dropped because the maximum number of disk tracks was exceeded
Track "Mix Minus Vox" was dropped because the maximum number of disk tracks was exceeded

When i view track numbers on only the active tracks i get 80, so were well below the 96 track count. Any help would be great. Thanks!

im having the same issue and I'm running pT hd native at home studio after working on a HD3 system ..
very annoying ..
no one?
