Default Commit adds extra space to the audio clips

I'm sure this has been beat to death already (as it has with Freeze) but I can't find any topics on it. But I'm making samples to use with a sampler and when I commit the tracks, sometimes they add about 3 minutes of blank space to the committed clips. The original clips are only about one or two seconds long and after committing they are 3 minutes. Sometimes it only adds a few seconds to each clip. I think it may have to do with the plugin that is on the track. Seems like Tape plugins cause the 3 minute space, but other plugins only cause the few seconds space.

Now I know I can highlight the clip and commit edit selection, but not all of the clips are the same length. So I would have to do them 1 by 1 in order to keep each one at the desired length I set them at. And I have 128 samples each with their own processing (which is why I have 128 tracks I mentioned in my other thread last week about crashing at the 129th track).

Is it currently in the plans to make the software only commit up the length of the clip? Or is my only option just to deal with it and just do them 1 by 1 or do them all at once and retrim all my clips again?

Would be nice to have an option to commit only the length of the clip, that can also be disabled for when you're committing delays and reverbs and other time based effects. But for things like EQ and Compression, one only wants to commit the length of the original clip only.
