Default Pro tools 10 & 11 together

So apparently we need to use both 10 and 11 together now if we want to use plugins that arent ready for 11 yet. Sounds cumbersome and annoying.
How does this work? If I apply effects or use instruments in 10 I wont be able to hear them in 11 right? So i dont get how Im meant to work using both?

Also I have been reading some posts of people saying "Yay kontakt player 5 is now AAX" but when I look at there page it says AAX for pro tools 10 ?? SO not sure why people are excited?

By installing 10.3.6, AND 11, you can track in 11(if you want) and then mix in 10, with all your usual "go to" plugins that are not yet ported to AAX 64 bit. For me, 11 is basically a toy to play with as I have too many RTAS plugins that aren't available as AAX for 11 yet. Its a "stopgap" measure so folks that are either very impatient, or have simple needs, can jump on 11 right away. For me, I need Waves, Slate and Melodyne, so all my work is in 10 for now
