Default Replace clip error-bug?

I'm editing dialog and I often need to enter i.e 30sec silence. I have a few different pre maid silent sound files with the right lenghts so I want to use the replace clip function to replace my 10sek background noice to 30 sec silence.

I separate the unwanted clip at selection in the edit window and in the clips browser right+click the 30 sec sound file I want to replace with. I choose "fit clip using the replacement clip length".

No matter how I try this it will still be replaced by the original clip length. Am I missing something here or is this a bug?

works perfectly for me (10sec original clip replaced by 30sec clip results in 30sec replacement)

why using a 30sec silence audio file anyway ? (something to learn for me?)
i mean, silence is the absence of audio files

why not ? :
select 10sec clip to be replaced with 30sec silence,
in the counter : punch in 30sec length,
insert silence (Cmd+Shift+E)
