PT5/PT6 -> different cursor[timeline] behaviour

hi out there -

who knows the trick?

used a 001 running PT 5.2.somehting so far and switched to an m box under 6.9.2 recently. noticed a small but nasty difference:

in PT 5, making a selction in an audio track and pressing [arrow up] after doing so makes the cursor jump back to the start of this selection.

in PT 6, pressing [arrow up] forces the cursor ALWAYS back to 0.00.000. no great fun to work this way, as you might imagine. it happens with PT 6.4 (mac os 10.3.9) and the 001 as well as with an m box under 6.9.2 (os 10.4.8)

setup -> preferences -> editing settings are identical in PT5 / PT 6, "link edit and timeline" is enabled both times.

any ideas how to fix it?

ps: computer is a souped up G4 AGP mac (was: 400 mhz / is: 1400 ghz), ram is 1.25 gb - if that is of any importance.
